World's Second Largest Diamond Found

The world's second largest diamond has been found in Botswana by the Lucara Karowe mine. The diamond rough is 1,111 carats and is said to be second in size to the famed Cullinan diamond. This rare and pure Type IIa stone is 65mm x 56mm x 40mm and the largest diamond discovered in over 100 years.

Studying the stone for cutting and polishing, as well as sale to the final owner could take years.

Also found were a 813 carat and a 374 carat stone.

Wishing I had some stock in Lucara!
